FBI stopped terror threat targeting UFC White House event

Tom Rashid
UFC & MMA Lead Writer ·

The FBI stopped a potential terrorist attack targeting UFC America 250 at the White House earlier this month, per a statement the Bureau posted to social media on June 10.

Agents and law enforcement partners became aware of a threat involving individuals outside the National Capital Region, according to the FBI statement, which credited rapid coordination with partner agencies and the Department of Defense for halting the plot before it could be carried out.

Trump says he was not briefed on threat

President Trump told reporters he had not been briefed on the incident when asked whether he knew about the attack plans. "I haven't heard about it, no," Trump said, per a clip posted by a White House correspondent. "The attack I watched were the fighters."

UFC America 250 proceeded without interruption. The Bureau did not release details on how many suspects were involved or whether arrests were made.
