Ditcheva Cleared After Hand Surgery, Calls Out Bishop
Dakota Ditcheva has been medically cleared to fight and wants a rematch with Jena Bishop for the PFL women's flyweight championship.
Ditcheva broke both hands during her unanimous decision win over Denise Kielholtz in July but returned to training about nine weeks after surgery, per Sherdog. The undefeated British striker told Ariel Helwani she focused on grappling while her hands healed and is now ready to reclaim the title Bishop won in her absence.
Ditcheva's Path Back to PFL Title Shot
Bishop became the inaugural PFL women's flyweight champion after beating Liz Carmouche at PFL Chicago while Ditcheva recovered. Ditcheva finished Bishop with a first-round TKO when they met in 2024 and carries a perfect 16-0 record with 13 finishes.
"I'm good, I'm all clear," Ditcheva said, according to the report. "I'm back at training now, so yeah, I'm ready to go. I'm just waiting for a date for the belt. I want my belt back."
The recovery went faster than expected after a previous hand injury during her victory over Sumiko Inaba last year took longer to heal. Ditcheva said she deliberately avoided striking work early in camp because no fight was booked and spent the time sharpening her grappling instead.
PFL has not announced a date for the flyweight title fight.
