Wilder Stops Herndon In An Impressive Return

h

Deontay Wilder stopped Tyrrell Herndon in the seventh round, marking a succesful return to the ring.

Wilder had plenty to prove following the departure of his long-time trainer Malik Scott. Wilder’s last win was against Robert Helenius in 2022 via a first-round knockout. He had only achieved that sole win with Scott, as defeats to Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang followed. Wilder remained adamant that he would not retire, as he left Scott to mark a new chapter. Herndon was on a three-fight win streak following wins against Daniel Gonzalez, Miree Coleman and Rudy Silvas. Wilder showed massive improvement, as his jab and right hand were improved. Here is how the fight played out.
