Jaron Ennis tells Eddie Hearn to book Vergil Ortiz Jr next
Jaron Ennis says he will fight whoever his promoter puts in front of him as he targets undisputed welterweight status. The IBF champion called for a unification clash with Vergil Ortiz Jr.
“Whoever Eddie wants, that's who we are going to get. Bring on Vergil, bring on them belts. I'm here to be undisputed in this weight class, so it doesn't matter who it is. I am taking over this division.”

What Jaron Ennis said
Ennis holds the IBF welterweight title and has positioned himself as the division's top name. Ortiz Jr holds interim WBC honours at 147 pounds. The bout would mark a step toward unifying the welterweight belts, a goal Ennis has stated publicly since moving up from junior welterweight.
What it moves
The next step depends on promotional alignment between Matchroom and Ortiz Jr's team. Ennis made clear he is not selecting opponents himself, deferring matchmaking to his promoter while signalling readiness for any available unification. Ortiz Jr has not yet responded to the public challenge.
