Delgado Withdraws From Biyarslanov Title Fight
Lindolfo Delgado has withdrawn from his scheduled vacant lightweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">super lightweight title fight against Arthur Biyarslanov, according to multiple reports.
The unbeaten contender declined to travel for Saturday's Mexico vs The World card in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, per Bad Left Hook. Delgado's trainer Robert Garcia told BoxingScene that organizers had not provided travel schedules or relevant information as of last week, and cited ongoing safety concerns over missile attacks on Riyadh infrastructure as well as the compressed timeline for Delgado to adjust.
Second Title Bout Lost From Riyadh Card
The IBF has not yet commented on Delgado's exit, and no replacement opponent has been named for Biyarslanov. Delgado enters with a 24-0 record and 16 knockouts.
The loss marks the second title bout to fall apart from the Riyadh show in three days. Lorenzo Parra failed his pre-fight medical earlier this week ahead of a planned featherweight title shot against Rafael Espinoza, forcing Ricardo Blandon to step in on short notice.
The State Department recently recalled non-emergency employees from Saudi Arabia and advises Americans to reconsider travel to the country. Dan Rafael reported that commentary for the event may be done remotely from London. The card is scheduled to proceed Saturday despite the withdrawals.
