Arum On Lomachenko-Foster Plans After Navarrete Win
Top Rank promoter Bob Arum outlined a mid-2027 timeline for Vasiliy Lomachenko to face O'Shaquie Foster following Foster's decision win over Emanuel Navarrete this weekend.
Arum told Bad Left Hook that Lomachenko plans to return against Charly Suarez before pursuing the Foster matchup. "Well, they are going to fight other people and Loma will fight probably Charly Suarez and then hopefully in mid-year they can fight each other," Arum said.
Lomachenko's 130-Pound Return
The Ukrainian has been training in Puerto Rico and wants to unify the junior lightweight division. "He wants 130 and he wants to unify all the belts," Arum said, per the Bad Left Hook report. "So he hasn't any aspirations other than 130."
Arum praised Foster's performance against Navarrete, calling it a disciplined effort against an opponent who attacks from unpredictable angles. He scored the fight narrowly for Foster heading into the final round.
Lomachenko appeared at ringside during the Navarrete-Foster card and announced his intention to return to active competition. Arum confirmed the 38-year-old is in strong physical condition after months away from the ring.
The Foster-Lomachenko bout would position the winner as the top contender in a crowded 130-pound landscape. Both fighters now have separate assignments before any summer meeting materializes.
