Degli Lands UFC Contract After Wild One-Arm Choke

Brazilian flyweight Marcos Degli secured a UFC contract Tuesday night after submitting Paris Moran with a standing one-arm rear-naked choke at Dana White's Contender Series.

Degli finished Moran at 4:46 of the second round at the Meta Apex, stretching his winning streak to 13 straight. According to Sherdog, the Brazilian has not lost since going 2-3 early in his career, and the finish was enough to earn him a deal from UFC CEO Dana White.

Degli Dedicates Win To Late Grandmother

In his post-fight interview, Degli turned emotional when discussing his grandmother. "I lost my grandma at the start of the year and I wish that she was here to see where her grandson made it," he said, per Sherdog. "We made it. I am sure she would be really proud. I am gonna make her really proud."

Degli also credited his wife for her support. "She is the most invaluable thing I have in my life," he said. "She's there for me no matter what."

The 15-3 flyweight now joins a UFC division looking for fresh contenders. No opponent or debut date has been announced.
