Dasuyev Says Jet Lag Cost Him KO On DWCS

Alvi Dasuyev stayed undefeated and secured a UFC contract with a unanimous decision over Jaden Ortega at Dana White's Contender Series on Tuesday, but the new signee believes he would have stopped his opponent without travel complications.

Dasuyev moved to 10-0 as a professional in the Season 10 Week 7 main event, according to Sherdog. UFC CEO Dana White awarded contracts to both fighters after the three-round battle, only the second time Dasuyev has seen a second round in his career.

Dasuyev On What Prevented The Finish

The unbeaten fighter told Laura Sanko in his post-fight interview that he felt jet lag affected his performance. "If I didn't have jet lag and stuff, I would knock him out," Dasuyev said, per UFC on Paramount+. "I'm sure about that. I hate that guy, to be honest."

Despite the complaint, Dasuyev expressed satisfaction with earning a UFC deal. He called the contract "a dream that's coming true" and said he was grateful for the opportunity he described as every mixed martial artist's goal.

White praised both fighters for their performances in the bout. Ortega also received a contract despite the loss, marking the second time this season the UFC boss has signed both competitors from a DWCS matchup. Dasuyev is expected to make his official UFC debut in early 2027.
