Dana White Awards UFC Contract After First-Round Finish

Polish heavyweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">light heavyweight Damian Piwowarczyk secured a UFC contract after stopping previously undefeated Emilio Quissua in the opening round of Dana White's Contender Series.

Piwowarczyk dropped Quissua with strikes at the 4:55 mark of Round 1 during Week 7 of Season 10 at the Apex in Las Vegas, per Sherdog. UFC CEO Dana White awarded the KSW veteran a contract following the finish.

The Polish standout credited his extended training camp for the performance. "It was really great. It's one of the best moments in my life," Piwowarczyk said afterward. "I put a lot of work into this moment. My camp is really long, like three or four months… I just put a lot of work to be here in top shape."

Piwowarczyk built his reputation under the KSW banner before getting the Contender Series shot. He weathered an early push from Quissua before finding the finish late in the frame.

Piwowarczyk joins the UFC's 205-pound roster with no date announced for his promotional debut.
