Darren Till said not capturing a UFC championship still haunts him years after his octagon exit.

Till, who beat Yoel Romero at BKFC 94 in Manchester on Saturday, told reporters at the post-fight presser that the unfulfilled goal remains a permanent sore spot. "I'm gonna have a thorn in me for the rest of my life that I didn't win a UFC title," he said, per Bloody Elbow. "That was my dream. That was my be-all and end-all in life."

Bare-Knuckle Success Cannot Erase UFC Shortfall

The Liverpool native requested his UFC release following a three-fight skid and has since racked up boxing wins over Luke Rockhold, Darren Stewart, and Anthony Taylor alongside his latest bare-knuckle victory. Still, those results have not filled the void left by two failed UFC title bids. Till told the media he and Team Kaobon came up short as the first Liverpool crew to chase octagon gold, and said the only way to remove that regret would be returning to the promotion despite his manager's resistance.

Till has floated multiple combat sports paths going forward, including a return to professional boxing and a grudge match against former UFC standout Mike Perry. Perry is currently recovering from a shoulder dislocation suffered in a recent MMA bout with Brandon Jenkins, with no timeline set for his return to competition.
