Till Confirms Torn ACL Ahead Of Romero Clash

Tom Rashid
UFC & MMA Lead Writer ·

Darren Till will enter the BKFC 94 cage against Yoel Romero on Sept. 26 with a torn ACL.

The former UFC title contender told MMA Junkie he's been managing the knee injury since his fight with Luke Rockhold, when it popped out in the changing room afterward. "I'm still walking around with a torn ACL," Till said. "My last fight, last camp, it was good. Now it's good. I can do everything, movements and stuff. But it is the reality of it."

Till's Plan For Surgery And Possible MMA Return

Till said he plans to delay surgery until after his bare knuckle run, possibly leaving the door open for an MMA comeback. "I think once I get those knees done and dusted and I've made all my money inside, whether it be the bare knuckle, Misfits Boxing, or whatever, I'm hopeful to go back," he said. "It just depends on where my career goes in the next year or two."

The 33-year-old Englishman has not competed in MMA since losing to Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 282 in late 2022. He made his BKFC debut with a knockout win over Aaron Chalmers in May.

Romero, 49, stopped Alex Nicholson at the Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA event in June. The BKFC 94 main event takes place at AO Arena in Manchester.
