Moses Itauma admitted Filip Hrgovic's pre-fight verbal assault is getting to him after the Croatian veteran suggested an early world title win could derail the 21-year-old British prospect's career.

Itauma told reporters this week that Hrgovic's comments are "starting to wind me up," according to ESPN. The unbeaten heavyweight faces the former title challenger in a scheduled 12-rounder that could position the winner for a shot at the division's top belts.

Hrgovic has taken aim at Itauma's age and experience throughout the buildup, arguing that winning a world championship too soon would stunt the Brit's development. The 32-year-old Croatian, who holds a knockout victory over Zhilei Zhang, framed his warnings as cautionary rather than hostile.

Itauma has compiled a perfect record since turning professional in 2023, stopping most of his opponents inside the distance. He trains under the Queensberry banner and has been fast-tracked toward elite opposition by promoter Frank Warren.
