Dana White says Eddie Hearn not a competitor for Zuffa Boxing
Dana White does not consider Eddie Hearn a competitive threat to Zuffa Boxing.
The UFC president appeared at the post-fight press conference following Zuffa's latest card and addressed questions about his ongoing dispute with the Matchroom promoter, according to Bad Left Hook. When asked about a potential peace summit with Hearn, White made clear his promotional rivals are not keeping him up at night.
White's Competition: Major Sports Leagues, Not Boxing Promoters
"We are not the same, any of these guys," White said. "The competitors I look at right now, the NFL, the NBA, Major League Baseball and the NHL. None of these other guys matter to me."
White added that if Hearn were present, he would have no problem speaking with him directly. The comments come as Zuffa continues positioning itself in the boxing space and as Saudi adviser Turki Alalshikh works to finalize details for a fight between Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.
Asked whether a bout like Oleksandr Usyk's most recent fight could happen under the Zuffa banner, White replied that anything is possible. He said he has all the information needed for the Joshua-Fury negotiations and is waiting to hear Alalshikh's position at the upcoming summit.
