Cruz Promises Action Against Bravo At Pechanga

Isaac 'Pitbull' Cruz says his fight against Nestor Bravo this weekend marks a new chapter in his career, one he must win to land the bigger opportunities he wants.

Speaking at the final press conference before the bout at Pechanga Arena, Cruz told reporters he has prepared for what he calls a fresh installment of the Mexico vs Puerto Rico rivalry. "I can guarantee the fans are going to get their money's worth," he said, per Bad Left Hook. "We're going to put on a show for everybody."

Cruz explained that the Bravo assignment carries weight beyond a simple tune-up. "This fight means a lot," he said. "I have to win in order to go and face the big names." The lightweight also addressed his loss to Lamont Roach, framing it as proof that he offers more than raw power. "They thought I was someone that only threw hard punches and came forward," Cruz said. "They were proven wrong and now I'm here to prove even more."
