Conor McGregor Predicts Spectacular Holloway Demolition at UFC 329
Conor McGregor believes he only needs to land a single shot to finish Max Holloway when they meet at UFC 329 next month.
The former two-division UFC champion returns to action on July 11 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas after five years away from the Octagon, according to MMA Mania. McGregor told CBS Sports on Paramount+ that the fight will end in dominant fashion. "It's going to be a demolition," he said. "It's going to be an absolute demolition. I know the damage he's taken. I will just have to touch him, and after that, it will be clinical. To win alone is not enough; it must be spectacular."
McGregor Views Layoff as Advantage Over Holloway
The 37-year-old sees his extended time away as a benefit rather than a liability. Where others worry about ring rust, McGregor emphasized feeling fresher than competitors who stayed active. "I look at the rest period that I have had, where I look at other competitors in the space, including my opponent," he said. "I feel a lot more fresher than these opponents. I've had my time of rest, and I feel I'm coming into my prime now."
Oddsmakers list McGregor as a plus-210 underdog to Holloway despite the former champion's confidence. The Irishman has not won a fight since 2020 and turns 38 three days after UFC 329. Holloway enters as one of the most durable fighters in UFC history, making McGregor's prediction of a quick finish all the more bold.
UFC 329 takes place July 11 in Las Vegas with McGregor looking to snap a two-fight skid and prove his self-proclaimed prime is just beginning.
