Charlo Warns Canelo That He Will Be A Lion, The Paul Brothers Confront Each Other

Jermell Charlo has warned Canelo Alvarez that he will be ready to cause a shock.

The two will face off on September 30th, 2023. Charlo’s only defeat in his career has been to Tony Harrison. Thereafter, he managed to rectify it by stopping Harrison in the 11th round in the rematch.

While that may have been the case, Charlo is a huge underdog going into this. The difference of two-weight classes could have a bearing in the latter end of the fight, if Canelo lands his hooks.

This was most notably seen when the Mexican beat Caleb Plant, who had been boxing well, until Canelo closed the gap and stopped the American, who was a fully-fledged 168 pound fighter.

But for all the odds being against him, Charlo is ready to pull off the unthinkable.

Charlo Ready To Be A Lion

"I’m really excited to make history once again on September 30. This is the biggest fight in boxing and I’m coming to leave it all in the ring like I do every time. I manifested this fight into existence and earned it with everything I’ve done in this sport so far. Canelo is a great fighter, but he’s gonna see what Lions Only is all about. When the fight’s over, people are gonna have to recognize that I’m the best fighter in the sport," Charlo

Nevertheless, even if Charlo were to come up short, there is a chance that his brother, Jermall Charlo, can pull off a shock with suggestions that he will also get the Canelo fight.

Although Jermall has been dealing with mental health struggles, he recently confirmed that he would be making a return to the ring this year. And that would provide the star with plenty of things to look forward to moving forward.

Charlo’s Return

"I can’t wait to get back in the ring. I’ll be back before the end of the year though. I promise you that. I’m getting back. I’m better now. Know what I’m sayin’? Everybody goes through things, you know. I faced my little adversity and the best thing about it is that I get to beat that adversity and y’all get to see the adversity," Charlo

Paul Brothers’ Confrontation

Logan Paul has slammed his brother, Jake Paul, for the lack of promotion for his fight against Dillon Danis.

Those comments arrived following Jake Paul’s recent fight against Nate Diaz, as the latter made his pro-boxing debut.

During the course of that process, Paul managed to knockdown Diaz, as he won via a unanimous decision.

In the build up, Logan Paul went out of his way to promote the fight, which included arriving at the fight in a private jet. This followed after Jake had suggested that Diaz was not doing enough to promote the fight.

With that being said, Logan will face Danis on October 14th, 2023, on the card of KSI vs. Tommy Fury.

Paul will be fighting for the first time since his exhibition bout with Floyd Mayweather. Therefore, Logan has plenty to prove having seen his brother forge a name for himself in boxing with mega events.

However, the two brothers got into a heated argument about the lack of push that Logan’s fight was being given by way of promotion. As a result, Logan was not too pleased about it.

"That’s ridiculous that I couldn’t bring in a PRIME bottle. DAZN, who by the way on the Misfits card, KSI’s event, promoted the f**k out of your fight against Nate Diaz, DAZN wasn’t allowed to promote the fight card. That’s ridiculous, who’s ask was that? It was Nakisa [Bidarian] dude. Nakisa is on your team, he’s not on team Paul, he’s on team Jake and we’re a family. He knows that… I’m on the card," Logan

Jake Hits Back

Paul immediately responded by defending the accusation. He clarified that he had no intention of promoting an event that ultimately had nothing to do with him.

And given that the show is being headlined by KSI, coupled with the fact that the former is an opponent who Jake could face later down the line, putting any support behind it did not make any sense.

"But why would I want to promote his event? It’s KSI’s event. They could promote you vs. Dillon [Danis] but it wasn’t announced yet. You understand why, you just don’t want to accept the reality… I’m not going to promote their event, the f*ck? That’s stupid as f*ck," Jake

Both Charlo and the Paul brothers have the chance to make history in their own right. Charlo can become one of the best by beating Canelo. Meanwhile, the Paul brothers are continuing to bring in a new audience to the sport of boxing.
