Brunson Calls Out Page After UFC Exit

Tom Rashid

Derek Brunson has challenged Michael Page to a free-agent fight after the British striker reportedly completed his contract with the promotion.

Page fulfilled his UFC deal at UFC Paris earlier this month with a decision victory over Nursulton Ruziboev, per Sherdog. The bout marked another low-output performance from the former Bellator welterweight, who was denied a post-fight interview and is said to be set for removal from the official rankings.

Brunson Proposes Free-Agent Showdown

Brunson called for a matchup between "2 free agents" in a social media post, confirming he has also parted ways with the Professional Fighters League. The veteran middleweight signed with PFL after leaving the UFC in 2023 following a two-fight losing streak and a scrapped bout against Roman Dolidze.

He fought just once under the PFL banner, scoring a decision win over Ray Cooper III in November 2023. Page meanwhile earned his reputation as a knockout artist during a long Bellator tenure but has yet to secure a stoppage since joining the UFC roster.

The proposed clash would pit two veterans seeking fresh starts outside their former promotions. No date or platform for the potential matchup has been announced.
