Former UFC flyweight champion Brandon Moreno will face Charles Johnson at UFC 335 in December, according to MMA Fighting.
Johnson handed current titleholder Joshua Van his only career knockout loss in July 2024 at UFC Denver. The bout came when Van was unbeaten in three UFC appearances, before his eventual rise to the championship. Van defeated Alexandre Pantoja by unanimous decision last month at UFC 331 to retain the flyweight strap in what was described as an instant classic.

Moreno Looking To Reenter Title Mix After Recent Skid
Moreno stopped Joseph Morales at Noche UFC 4 earlier this year to snap a two-fight losing streak. He dropped consecutive bouts to Tatsuro Taira and Lone'er Kavanagh before the Morales win gave him fresh momentum in the division.
Johnson bounced back from a third-round submission loss to Asu Almabayev in June by finishing Eduardo Henrique via twister at UFC 330. A win over Moreno would position Johnson for a potential title eliminator while Van prepares for a likely showdown with top contender Manel Kape.

UFC 335 takes place in Las Vegas, though the promotion has not yet announced a main event. UFC CEO Dana White hinted earlier this week that former two-division champion Alex Pereira could return at the card. The full fight lineup is expected in the coming weeks.
