Bradley Blasts Davis After Haney Fight Rejection

Timothy Bradley ripped Keyshawn Davis for walking away from his mandatory shot at WBO welterweight champion Devin Haney, calling the decision one of the sport's most blatant examples of a fighter dodging a big opportunity.

Davis turned down a purse bid offer of $2.35 million to face Haney, according to The Ring's Mike Coppinger. The 27-year-old lightweight contender had reportedly sought $5 million net after management fees despite never earning more than $1 million for a single bout. Top Rank had previously offered $3 million before the purse bid took place.

Bradley Questions Davis's Commitment After Public Callout

Bradley went hard at Davis on the latest episode of Inside The Ring, questioning how a fighter could campaign so loudly for a title shot and then back out over money. "Quack, quack, quack, quack – straight up duck," Bradley said, per The Ring. "This is probably one of the biggest ducks in boxing history, seriously. Think about everything that Davis did leading up to this. Everybody was paying attention, like this guy is really about that smoke. You cannot do all those things that he did to get himself in this position, and then all of a sudden say it ain't enough money."

The Hall of Fame fighter and commentator added that Davis had put himself in position with strong recent performances, including a knockout of Gustavo Lemos in November and a stoppage of Jamaine Ortiz in January. But Bradley suggested Davis overestimated his drawing power and market value compared to four-division champion Shakur Stevenson. Davis has remained silent since the news broke last week.

Ryan Garcia, Teofimo Lopez and Oscar De La Hoya have also criticized Davis publicly for the decision. Where the Virginia native goes next remains unclear after relinquishing his mandatory position.
