Bellew Makes Dubois Favorite In Kabayel Unification
Tony Bellew says a Daniel Dubois vs. Agit Kabayel unification would be one of the most interesting fights at heavyweight.
Kabayel beat Arslanbek Makhmudov, Frank Sanchez and Zhilei Zhang to become interim WBC champion, then was upgraded to full champion when Oleksandr Usyk vacated rather than face him as mandatory. He makes his first defense next month against Nelson Hysa, and has said he will chase unifications, with Dubois and Filip Hrgovic both under the Queensberry banner.
Bellew said Dubois’ progress and Kabayel’s history of being hurt make him the favorite: “Because I’ve seen the progression Daniel’s made, I make him favourite against Kabayel. I make him favourite because I’ve seen Kabayel hurt, I’ve seen him on the floor. Daniel’s got such tunnel vision – he’s so one-track minded. You show Daniel [a video of] Agit Kabayel on the floor – going down, being hurt – and it’s done. [Dubois] will just keep going,” Bellew
