Professional Career

 

Kabayel began his career with a series of decisive wins, including his debut victory against Yeton Abdullah in June 2011, where he secured a TKO in the fourth round. His early career was characterized by a rapid accumulation of wins, often ending fights with knockouts or technical knockouts, such as his first-round KO against Wladimir Letr in February 2014. Kabayel’s rise in the heavyweight ranks continued with his capture of the vacant WBC Mediterranean heavyweight title in March 2014, defeating Gbenga Oloukun via split decision. This victory was a significant milestone, showcasing his ability to compete at a higher level. In 2015, Kabayel continued to build his reputation with a string of victories, including a first-round knockout of Shalva Jomardashvili and a second-round TKO of Maksym Pedyura.

 

In February 2017, Kabayel won the vacant European heavyweight title with a unanimous decision victory over Herve Hubeaux. He successfully defended this title multiple times, including a notable majority decision win against Derek Chisora in November 2017, which significantly raised his profile in the boxing world. Kabayel’s continued success saw him retain the European heavyweight title with victories over Miljan Rovcanin and Andriy Rudenko. Kabayel’s career reached new heights in recent years. In 2020, he claimed the vacant WBA Continental heavyweight title with a unanimous decision win over Evgenios Lazaridis. He then defended this title successfully against Kevin Johnson in June 2021. Kabayel’s winning streak continued with a first-round TKO of Pavel Sour in May 2022 and a TKO win over Agron Smakici in March 2023, earning him the European heavyweight title.

 

In December 2023, Kabayel secured a significant victory against Arslanbek Makhmudov, winning by TKO in the fourth round and capturing the WBC-NABF and WBA Inter-Continental heavyweight titles. He followed this up with a major triumph in May 2024, knocking out Frank Sánchez in the seventh round to win the WBC Continental Americas and WBO-NABO heavyweight titles.
