BBC Sport Drops Eubank Jr, Shields & Pimblett Episodes
BBC Sport has released a multi-episode documentary series following boxers and MMA fighters at pivotal moments in their careers.
Born to Brawl features more than a dozen combat sports athletes including middleweight Chris Eubank Jr, undisputed champion Claressa Shields, and UFC lightweight Paddy Pimblett, the BBC reported. The series gives viewers an inside look at what it takes to compete at the highest level, with each fighter telling their story without narration.
Eubank Jr, Shields Lead Boxing Contingent
Eubank Jr's episode covers his life as the son of boxing royalty and his path following his father's legacy. Shields opens up about her difficult journey to becoming undisputed middleweight world champion. Natasha Jonas discusses her comeback to win three world titles at 37, while Savannah Marshall reveals how she dealt with Floyd Mayweather's broken promises and prepared for her historic fight against Shields.
The MMA side includes Tom Aspinall detailing his rise from having twenty quid in the bank to headlining UFC cards as interim heavyweight champion. Muhammad Mokaev shares his story of fleeing Dagestan as a refugee before finding mixed martial arts in the UK. Pimblett's episode follows him before his UFC debut in Las Vegas after he twice turned down the promotion earlier in his career.
The series also profiles Olympic bronze medallist Cindy Ngamba, rising prospect Dennis McCann, former world champion Josh Warrington, Bellator fighter Leah McCourt, and multiple members of boxing's traveller community including Ricky Gorman and the sons of Prince Naseem Hamed. All episodes are available now on BBC Sport.
