Abdullaev Targets Contract At Contender Series 10

Undefeated lightweight Akbar Abdullaev gets his shot at a UFC contract tonight when Contender Series returns for its sixth week of season 10.

Abdullaev, who brings a 13-0 record into the featured bout, faces short-notice replacement Ednilson Santos in what MMA Mania calls one of the best prospect showcases of the entire season. The card streams on Paramount+ starting at 7 p.m. ET from the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Main Card Features Returning Fighter, Two Undefeated Prospects

The main event pits massive welterweight Mayton Perea against undefeated Zevan Hunt, who enters at 7-0. Igor Cavalcanti returns for a second crack at a contract in the co-main event, this time facing Oscar Ravello after falling short in an earlier appearance.

The middleweight bout carries backstory beyond the cage. Luis Hernandez, who reportedly was assaulted by Sean Strickland in a widely circulated incident, brings his unblemished 7-0 record against France's Hugo Guillon. The card opens with featherweights Antonio Monteiro and Tyshawn Williams.

Five contracts are potentially on the line pending Dana White's post-fight decisions, with results expected to be announced shortly after the final bout concludes around 10 p.m. ET.
