Joshua vs. Dubois Predictions - 'It's Lights Out'

Anthony Joshua will face Daniel Dubois on September 21.

Joshua aims to win the Dubois IBF Heavyweight Title. Dubois became the full champion once Oleksandr Usyk vacated the belt following his victory over Tyson Fury. Joshua is looking to secure his third straight stoppage under his trainer Ben Davidson. The Brit looks back to his best, being the combination puncher which earned him stoppage wins over Otto Wallin and Francis Ngannou. A win makes Joshua a three-weight world champion and mandatory for the winner of Fury-Usyk.

Pre-Fight Comments

“Congratulations to Daniel for winning his last fight (against Hrgovic), I went to watch it live. It was a good fight between the two of them. I picked Dubois to win as well, I watch boxing closely and I picked him before He came through and we are here. I’ve been having Dubois on my mind for a while. He’ll be on my mind for the next 12 weeks until I’ve got my hand raised,” Joshua

“That’s just where I’m aiming for, to be the best. To fight the best and beat the best. AJ has been the king for a long time.We all know he’s been the king for a very long time. On the night, I need to become the king slayer. That’s my goal, that’s the mission I have. I’m ready to let my fists do the talking. A hundred percent ready to go, train like a beast. So bring it on,” Dubois

Dubois is also heading into great form. Stoppage victories against Jarrell Miller and Filip Hrgovic have increased his stock. There were concerns that Dubois had fallen down the pecking order. His losses against Joe Joyce and Oleksandr Usyk raised doubts over his durability. Dubois took a knee as he broke his orbital bone against Joyce. Meanwhile, Dubois only got up from the Usyk loss once the count was over. Dubois knows a victory earns him the best win of his career. The predictions have Joshua as a big favorite.

Predictions

“I think AJ is too clever and he is too strong, and Dubois had a good fight, but you could see in the first few rounds that he wasn’t he wasn’t 100% there. He did have a good performance, but I think it is too experienced, and he’s got too much on him,” Scott Forrest

“I don’t think there’s a way in hell that he beats Joshua stylistically. Right now, he gets hit by too many right hands, man. And it’s one thing getting hit by Hrgovic, but AJ is a bit of another level. It’s not even just how. It’s a snappiness as well, like, it’s the hands speed, like, and he’s so accurate of his right hand AJ as well. [And] It’s just, I think it’s a bit of another level,” Shane Watson

Joshua by KO. I think Dubois is on really good form, but he gets caught too much for my liking. And you can’t get caught with power like Joshua, because its lights out. I’ve always said this, if Joshua catches anybody in the world, it’s lights out…I still believe we’re going to see the best answer in Joshua,” Izzy Asif

“I do think that Joshua, this is his time, and I think he’ll be too strong for him on the night, and I expect him to stop him late,” Kalle Saunderland

“That I genuinely don’t know. If Dubai doesn’t tighten up his defense and keeps getting cracked straight down the middle like he was it, very badly, to be honest,” Matty Harris
