Fury Warned About Usyk's Insane IQ - 'It's Going To Work In Usyk’s Plans'

Jared Anderson has warned Tyson Fury about pressing Oleksandr Usyk on the front foot, which will play into the Ukrainian’s hands.

The Undisputed Heavyweight Championship takes place on May 18. Fury is the slight favorite coming into the fight. However, his cut over his right eye in sparring has evened things up. The cut meant the fight was rescheduled from the previous February 17 date. The cut is expected to take around three months to heal, meaning Fury faces an uncertain time in the ring.

There are worries that Usyk could target the eye. Anderson cautioned Fury over coming forward against Usyk since his left hand could target the eye. But by boxing on the back foot, Fury will go against his recent style. Since teaming up with SugarHill Steward, the Gypsy King has become a front-foot fighter. His two knockout wins over Deontay Wilder proved that. That is why Anderson felt it could be a risky bout.

Anderson Reacts

“Size will play a big factor, whether he presses forward or takes his time. Either way, he comes out on top. Him pressing forward could be the reverse psychology option that he shouldn’t do because I think it’s going to work in Usyk’s plans. I believe if he takes his time and wears down Usyk as he should, I think he’s going to take the fight easy,” Anderson said

The winner will become boxing’s first Undisputed Heavyweight Champion since Lennox Lewis defeated Evander Holyfield in 1999. Since Fury and Usyk are both undefeated, there is plenty on the line. Usyk has been undisputed at cruiserweight, while Fury has never had that privilege. While that may have been the case, Fury has won every belt at heavyweight, unlike Usyk, leaving the bout with plenty on the line.

Fury’s Mindset

Fury appears unworried by the weight of expectation. Fury looks in good spirits. The WBC Heavyweight Champion held a solo presser, vowing to beat Usyk and become a billionaire. The Gypsy King could have ten more fights lined up, so staying active and in good condition is vital. He shocked fans after eating an egg smashed on his head, only for his nutritionist to eat the shell.

Standing at six-foot-nine, Fury’s diet consists of lots of protein. He shared a glimpse into his diet in the most novel way. Fury talked up the benefits of eating eggs in a bizarre moment with his nutritionist, Greg Marriott. The following clip shows Greg breaking the egg on Fury’s forehead, who eats it. Greg takes things further by eating the raw shell.

Fury: “Hi, Tyson Fury here, I’ve just finished a great boxing session in the gym.

Greg, the viewers will want to know, what’s the best form of protein after the gym?” Marriott “An egg.”

Fury: “An egg? What do you mean? That was pretty good, Greg. I need the protein, but you need the calcium for your bad leg.”
