Joshua Shouldn’t Fight Wilder – Says Carl Froch

Carl Froch has warned Anthony Joshua about fighting Deontay Wilder next.

Those comments came in the aftermath of Joshua’s seventh-round knockout over Robert Helenius.

Despite this being the case, Joshua’s performance was nothing home to write about. Before the knockout, AJ struggled to pin down Helenius, as the latter was managing to land his jab consistently.

This was even though the latter had only been given a one-week notice following Dillian Whyte’s adverse finding.

And yet, Hearn was confident that the performance was enough to take on Wilder.

However, Froch had a few choice words to say about that.

Froch On Joshua

“What a load of [__] from Eddie Hearn. Did he say that? Yeah, listen, anyone’s got a job to do. He’s got to promote his fight… he’s got to impress DAZN. But that is [__]. One might wonder, is Eddie genuinely appreciative of AJ’s abilities, or is he donning the age-old promoter’s hat, building up the hype for a bigger showdown? Carl doesn’t mince his words when he says, “That performance on AJ was not good enough to go anywhere near Deontay Wilder in his very next fight unless he doesn’t mind getting slaughtered for the money,” Froch

Ultimately, the fight is one the biggest ones to be made out there. And the longer the fight gets delayed, the more frustration it will cause amongst the boxing fans.

After all, fans have already witnessed the previous breakdown in talks between Wilder and Joshua. Prior to Wilder facing Tyson Fury, there were talks for an undisputed heavyweight fight at the time with AJ.

However, the fight did not get made as both men lost their belts. Thereafter, Joshua admitted he had no desire to become undisputed.

“I’m done with all that. Undisputed‘s a headache. I’ve been chasing that for a long time. That’s a whole headache. I’ll just get my hands on one of the titles, but why do people not regard the IBO heavyweight title as a legitimate heavyweight championship belt,” Joshua
