Joe Rogan broke his silence regarding the 2026 Golden Globes, explaining that his omission from the “Best Podcast” category was a personal choice rather than a snub.

The broadcaster revealed he opted out of the running after learning that the nomination process required a $500 entry fee. Rogan, 58, mocked the idea of paying for an accolade, labeling the requirement as “bizarre” and unnecessary for a show of his scale.

The inaugural trophy was ultimately taken home by Amy Poehler for her series Good Hang, a relatively new production that debuted less than a year ago. Despite the award, Rogan remained unbothered, asserting that his six-year tenure as the most-listened-to creator on Spotify’s worldwide charts is the only metric for success.

“They asked me to submit to be nominated for the Golden Globes, and you had to pay $500. And the $500 is like for paperwork or whatever. I said, ‘No. I don’t want to be a part of that. I don’t care. You’re just a group of people that just decide, all of a sudden, that you’re going to give an award out? ‘I get a trophy. F— off!

“You can’t tell me I didn’t win. I’ve been number one for six years in a row. All of sudden, you’re going to have a contest in front of all these people wearing tuxedos, and you’re going to say now I’m not number one? F— off. I don’t care that I’m number one, but I am, in fact, number one,” Rogan said

Rogan Reacts

Rogan will return to his duties as a UFC commentator when Alexander Volkanovski rematches Diego Lopes at UFC 325 this Saturday. Volk defends his featherweight title, which he acquired after beating Lopes last year for the vacant title. The Australian has expressed a potential move up to lightweight previously to try and secure a belt in a second weight class. Rogan believes Volk should be a two-division champ already, despite the scoring in the first Islam Makhachev fight.

“He (Makhachev) lost that fight, I believe. We were convinced, we might have to (re)watch it. I don’t think we were biased. “In my eyes, I thought it was 3-2 (to Volkanovski). Oh my god, this sucks. Listen to the crowd. One of those scorecards was crazy. It’s hard — we’re watching it, we’re not scoring it legitimately. We’re talking s— and we’re drinking, but it seems to me he won three rounds,” Volkavoski said
