McKenna Wins IBF Title In Dublin Unanimous Decision
Aaron McKenna claimed the IBF middleweight championship with a unanimous decision victory over Etinosa Oliha at Zuffa Boxing 10 in Dublin on Saturday night, MMA Mania reports.
McKenna, who entered the 3Arena bout with a perfect 20-0 record, weathered an equally undefeated opponent in Oliha, who came in at 22-0. The judges scored all three cards in favour of the Irish fighter to hand him his first world title.
Walsh Stays Perfect In Co-Main
In the co-headliner, Callum Walsh extended his unblemished record to 17-0 with a unanimous decision over Tyler Denny. Walsh, who became Zuffa Boxing's first signing when the promotion launched, fought in front of a home crowd that watched Denny drop his second consecutive bout.
The undercard featured three stoppages, including a seventh-round knockout from Sam Hickey over Brad Axe and first-round finishes for both Stevie McKenna against Owen O'Neill and Patrick O'Connor against Juan Manuel Moriel. Joe Ward took a decision over Artjom Kasparian at heavyweight/" class="internal-link text-bone underline decoration-ash/30 hover:decoration-gold underline-offset-2">light heavyweight.
McKenna's title win marks a significant moment for Zuffa Boxing's expansion into the 160-pound division as the UFC-backed promotion continues building its roster around undefeated prospects.
