Gervonta Davis Vs. Shakur Stevenson – Who Wins?
Gervonta Davis vs. Shakur Stevenson appears to be the fight to make at 135 pounds.
Shakur will defend his WBC Lightweight Title against Artem Harutyunyan on July 6 as he enters the final fight of his Top Rank deal. The pressure is on Shakur to perform following his Edwin De Los Santos performance, where he was booed in his decision to win. Davis is the more attacking fighter, having stopped Frank Martin in his last fight. They have been linked with a fight for some time. Stevenson could sign with PBC to make that fight, as all eyes appear to be on that fight.
The consensus amongst the fans is that Shakur either wins a decision or keeps it long in a dull decision. The alternative is that Davis knocks out Stevenson. The closest fans have seen to a similar kind of match-up recently was Errol Spence Jr. vs. Terence Crawford last year. But the fight was not a competitive one as Crawford dominated the bout. He dropped Spence three times on his way to a ninth-round knockout. And yet, looking back, there were suggestions that the fight happened too late as Spence was no longer in his prime. And when it came to the boxing pros, there was a mixed reaction.
