Ennis And Stanionis' Final Words - 'I'm Going To Show The World I'm The Best'

Jaron Ennis and Eimantas Stanionis made weight for their welterweight unification bout on the weekend.

Ennis is looking to become undisputed at 147 as he puts his IBF title on the line. He made a successful defense of the title after defeating Karen Chukhadzhian in his last bout. That took his record to 33-0, with 29 KOs. Stanionis is the WBA Welterweight Champion. He arrives into the fight with a victory over Gabriel Maestre. That extended his record to 15-0, with 9 KOs. Both fighters are confident of getting a win, knowing fights against the other champions in the division, Mario Barrios and Brian Norman Jr., are up for grabs. Ennis weighed 146.4 pounds, while Stanionis weighed 146.8 pounds.

Reaction

“I’m going to show the world I’m the best in the world. My time is now and that WBA, that Ring Magazine belt and my IBF belt is going back to Philadelphia,” Ennis

“I’m all in,” Stanionis

“It’s going to be full to the rafters tomorrow night, and it deserves it because I think this is the fight of the year. I think this is the best fight we’ve seen in 2025. It’s the best vs. the best. It’s everything a fight fan wants, and it’s also the Ring Magazine championship. If you look at the names that have won that belt in the past. It’s a huge moment and a huge moment for Jaron Ennis to go show the world how special he is.

“I would think it is a struggle for him. He’s a huge 147-pounder. Not having to think about [the IBF’s secondary weight check] weigh-in tomorrow. Not having to get on the scales at 8:00 or 10:000, measure your food, measure your liquids, and measure your water. You don’t want to go crazy. You don’t want to start putting on 20, 25 pounds, coming into the ring feeling lethargic. He needs to be razor-sharp tomorrow night. He’s got a great team around him, but not having to think about that weigh-in tomorrow, having a good sleep and a good meal tonight, that’s going to set Boots up for a great performance,” Eddie Hearn said
