Dana White Denies Rumors Of Jon Jones’ $30 Million Aspinall Demand!

Dana White has cooled down speculation over Jon Jones’ fight demands for the Tom Aspinall bout.

UFC fans are desperate to see the fight since they missed out on Jones fighting Francis Ngannou. The Predator left the UFC in 2023 and signed with the PFL, ending any chances of that bout. Jones is the current UFC Heavyweight Champion after winning the belt against Ciryl Gane. Jones returned from a three-year absence to submit Gane in the first round to become the UFC Heavyweight Champion. He then defended the belt against Stipe Miocic at UFC 309. He stopped Miocic from sending the latter into retirement.

Aspinall also won his last fight, stopping Curtis Blaydes in the first round at UFC 304. He avenged the only loss of his UFC career. Aspinall is now next in line to face Jones. Jones stated he will enter the octagon with anyone if compensated enough. Reports indicated that he wants $30 million. Joe Rogan addressed those rumours, stating the UFC would have to put their money where its mouth is. But after digging into this, Rogan confirmed it is not true after speaking to White.

White Reacts

“I think it’s going to be [Tom] Aspinall [next]. I think they’re trying to come to some sort of an agreement. The rumor is that [Jon Jones] wants $30 million and the UFC is going to pay him, hopefully,” Rogan said

“I had heard a rumor that Jon Jones wanted $30 million to fight Tom Aspinall. I did hear that rumor and I did hear that the UFC said yes, but it is not true. So, Dana contacted me and said that rumor is [not true]. So, I felt obligated to tell everybody. That was a fake rumor,” Rogan stated

But the ball is in Jones’ court. The UFC Heavyweight Champion stated that he sees his future in acting. But before that happens, he would like to have one more fight. There is the ideal scenario where he faces Aspinall for a career-high payday, beats him and then retires from the sport.

He is already considered one of the best fighters of all time. He has won belts at light heavyweight and heavyweight, beating the best put in front of him. But with one eye on the future, Aspinall may be able to catch Jones at the right time. White has said he is confident that the fight will be made. Jones has also mapped out his exit from the sport.

The Future

“I’m 37 years old, but I feel young in spirit. [And] I’m still competing at a really high level. I’m still able to do physical things that I used to be able to do, like weightlifting, swimming, and running, all the things I used to be able to do. I actually feel I’m becoming a better athlete. Age is just a number.

“And I feel like when you keep a positive attitude and take care of your body, take care of yourself, you can stay young for a long time. Within the next five years I wanna win one more fight. Maybe even two more fights, and try and make as much money as possible in the UFC. I want to launch off my acting career,” he added. “I’ve always wanted to be an actor,” Jones stated
