Cris Cyborg Mocks Ronda Rousey For Calling Herself The Greatest - 'Still Suffering From CTE'

Cris Cyborg mocked Ronda Rousey after she labelled herself as the greatest fighter of all time.

Rousey is the former UFC Bantamweight Champion. She set the record for the most successful title defences, which stood at six. She has been overtaken since then by Valentina Shevchenko, who took the record to seven. Ronda left the UFC in 2016 following back-to-back losses.

Defeats to Holly Holm at UFC 193 and then against Amanda Nunes at UFC 207 ended her career badly. However, Rousey has since then given some context to her defeats. She revealed she was concussed before facing Holm while admitting she had taken too much neurological damage by the time she left the sport. She defended her career, labelling herself as one of the best.

Rousey Reacts

“Just from that one fight, everybody felt like, ‘Oh she’s a fraud.’ I know that I’m the greatest fighter that has ever lived, but when it got to a point that I had taken so much neurological damage that I couldn’t take it anymore, suddenly everything I had accomplished meant nothing,” Rousey said

Cyborg reacted to Rousey’s comments, downplaying her achievements. Cyborg is equally an accomplishment fighter. She is the current Bellator Women’s Featherweight Champion, a title she picked up in 2020. She is also the only person in the history of MMA to become a Grand Slam Champion, with titles in Bellator, UFC, Strikeforce and Invicta FC. Cyborg has also transitioned into boxing, with a record of 3-0. That is why she did not have much time for Rousey’s comments.

Chandler On McGregor

Elsewhere, Michael Chandler expects to stop Conor McGregor early, provided they face off.
The two fighters have been linked with a fight since their days as rival coaches on the TUF 31 series. Chandler won the team challenge, while McGregor won the coach’s challenge.

Both men have had a lot of inactivity. Chandler has not fought since losing to Dustin Poirier at UFC 281 in 2022. McGregor’s last fight was also a loss to Poirier at UFC 261 in 2021, as he suffered a broken leg. Both fighters are confident that they will face each other in the summer. McGregor confirmed it was ‘all systems go’ for a fight.

|We got confirmation a few days ago that it’s all systems go. And ‘The Mac’, ‘The Notorious’ will be returning to the UFC Octagon this summer. I had [my training] camp in Dubai [months ago], I had a camp in Cannes. I was preparing, and then I was kind of getting nothing back. And then other things came up and I kind of dipped out. But now, it’s on. So, there’s no messing now. I cannot dip out now,” McGregor revealed

Meanwhile, Chandler stated he had ‘confirmation’ that the fight was happening. While the UFC has not made an official announcement, Chandler was already looking ahead to the result. He backed himself to stop McGregor in the second round.
