He suffered a broken hand during the fight, which may have impacted his performance. Nurmagomedov has called for a Merab rematch, meaning it is vital that he comes out with a win. Meanwhile, Bautista enters this bout on an eight-fight winning streak. Bautista’s resume includes wins against Jose Aldo, Ricky Simon and Patchy Mix in his last fight. “To be honest, no — right now [Bautista is] 8-0 in UFC. It’s good results and I think he deserve to fight with me. And who else? Everybody was like ‘no,’ or they injured, or they have booking already fights. I think it is nice striker and I think we’re going to show good fight,” Umar said

“I have the opportunity, I’ve been saying all week, I have the opportunity to change things up, really shake up the division. Otherwise, if Umar wins, it’s just going to be rematches from here on out for a little bit for Merab. You have [Cory] Sandhagen who can work his way back up. So I have the opportunity to shake things up, and that’s what I plan on doing,” Bautista stated

“My prediction for this fight, I think, Bautista. I mean, it’s a three round fight. If it’s five-round fight, then I will say Bautista has more of a chance.“It’s a three round fight. Umar is tricky, whatever, but Bautista has a chance. I’ll be a little bit cocky… I think I broke Umar. Bautista, I can beat him too,” Merab said
