Tank Davis Destroys Punch Machine, Beating Wilder And Joshua's Record

Gervonta Davis destroyed a punch bag machine to beat Anthony Joshua and Deontay Wilder’s record.

Davis is one of the most exciting knockout artists around. His record currently stands at 29-0, with 27 knockouts. His last fight was a seventh-round knockout win against Ryan Garcia. He is set to face Frank Martin this summer. Throughout his career, Davis has secured spectacular KO finishes against Mario Barrios, Leo Santa Cruz and Garcia.

Naturally, few would have given Davis the advantage over Joshua and Wilder when it came to the punch machine. The latter two are some of the most destructive heavyweights to have existed. In contrast, Davis is a 135-pound fighter.

But the following clip shows just how powerful Davis can hit. Before Wilder’s fight with Dominic Breazeale, all three fighters made an appearance on Inside PBC Boxing. Wilder scored 927, while Breazeale had 889.

“Well, well, well, if it isn’t Gervonta Davis and Dominic Breazeale. Welcome fellas to a place where we will test your will. The bag that is placed before you will test your power and your skill. When I did it, I calculated a whopping 927. And that was only with my left hand, so imagine if I touch either of your chins, you’re bound to go to heaven. That’s enough about me, it’s all about you today. So step up to the plate and test your fate. Let the world see if you’ve got what it takes,” Wilder said

Davis’ Record

Davis, however, went a step further as he scored a staggering 939. That beat a record set by Joshua on the Graham Norton Show when he scored 848 in 2017.  Davis is not the only person who has set records. In 2018, Ngannou recorded the hardest punch in history, as per the Guinness Book of World Records.

He took on the PowerKube machine, known for measuring force, speed, and accuracy. Ngannou’s overhand right produced impressive results. It produced a power punch of 129,161 units. His uppercut reached 122,000, while the speed was 51,064 foot-pounds per second. Prior to boxing Tyson Fury, Frank Warren warned the public about Ngannou’s power. This was shown when Ngannou dropped Tyson Fury in the third round with a sweeping left hook.

“He’s going to have to throw bombs and put Tyson out of his stride. One thing that’s for sure is that if Ngannou catches him then he’ll hurt him. We know he’s a massive puncher because he’s in the Guiness Book Of Records for throwing the hardest punch. He is a big puncher and as Daniel Dubois showed in his fight with Oleksandr Usyk a couple of weeks ago, a big punch can change a fight dramatically. Tyson has got to be at the top of his game and watch out for this,” Warren said

With so much power, Davis knows he can take a fighter out with one punch. Martin will have to be on his A-game to avoid being the next victim. Find all the latest boxing news and MMA breaking updates on boxingnews.com.
