Former UFC Middleweight champion Sean Strickland faces Anthony Hernandez at UFC Houston, as pros picked their winner.

Strickland is looking to end a poor streak after losing two of his last three. Most recently, he dropped a split decision in a title rematch against Dricus Du Plessis at UFC 312 in February 2025. Meanwhile, Hernandez enters his first UFC main event on the back of an incredible eight-fight winning streak. His last outing in August 2025 saw him dominate Roman Dolidze en route to a fourth-round submission.

Predictions

“Strickland, you know, he’s got good style but in his way—good cardio, you know, pressures all the time. So I think he is going to break him and win the fight,” Jan Blachowicz

“Oh man. Wait, had they fought before? No? Okay, good. I was thinking they had fought before. Uh, I’m going to go for Strickland. Let’s do it,” Stephen Thomson

“Anthony Hernandez: great gas tank, good jiu-jitsu. Sean Strickland: great jiu-jitsu, great wrestling, weird style. Pumped up for that fight. Oh god. If someone gave me $10,000 to pick, I can’t pick. I’d have to go back and watch Fluffy’s fight again. I don’t know how that fight’s going to play out,” Tim Welch

“I like Hernandez, but Sean is a… Yeah, I’m gonna go with Hernandez. I’m going to make it. Yeah, make it short and sweet,” Adam Fugitt

More Predictions

“Oh, that’s going to be a good one. Good test of cardio for both because they just both go. Um, I’m gonna go Strickland on that one,” Mario Bautista

“I’ve always been a fan of Sean Strickland…I don’t really care, you know, who wins, who loses. I’m rooting for both guys. I don’t know. It’s going to be a 25-minute kind of barn burn. It’s gonna be a fun scratch. So Sean definitely has more of like the striking advantage. If he can shut down Hernandez’s takedowns and pace, I’d probably give him the edge on the decision,” Alex Morono

“Yeah, that’d be a great fight, man. I think matchups, you know, matchups make fights and both those guys have super high motor. They both kind of thrive on breaking people. I’m going to go with Hernandez. I think he’s been more active,” Cody Brundage
