Sean Strickland Lashes Out At Jon Jones And Conor McGregor - 'He’s A juiced-Out, Roided-Out Guy'

Sean Strickland has hit out at UFC Heavyweight Champion Jon Jones for not fighting Tom Aspinall.

Jones has not fought since beating Ciryl Gane at UFC 285 last year to win the vacant belt. He was set to defend his belt against Stipe Miocic at UFC 295 last November. However, a pectoral muscle injury in sparring meant he had to pull out. Jones had surgery, followed by further surgery on his elbow.

Aspinall asked the UFC to strip Jones so he could fight Miocic for the belt. The winner would then take on Jones. Dana White dismissed that possibility, leaving Aspinall to wait for Jones. This has created the narrative that Jones is ducking Aspinall. Strickland has called on Jones to give the fans what they want.

Strickland Reacts

“At the end of the day, Jon Jones is a piece of s**t. I know that, the whole world knows that, we don’t need to reiterate his past. He needs to sack up, fight Aspinall and f**king just get the s**t done,” Strickland said

Strickland also turned his attention towards Conor McGregor’s problems. The Notorious still does not have a fight date, leaving his last fight at UFC 264 in 2021. He suffered a defeat to Dustin Poirier, breaking his leg in the process.

His return has been talked about for some time. However, a fight with Michael Chandler has yet to be confirmed. McGregor still has two fights left on his UFC deal. But the longer he remains absent from the Octagon, the harder it becomes to return. Strickland advised the Irishman to retire.

“I don’t know, man. Do we really care about Conor McGregor these days? I mean, he’s a juiced-out, roided-out guy. I mean, do we still care about Conor McGregor? Is he still a name in the UFC? Dude, go retire on a yacht. Be done with your sh*t,” Strickland added

Du Plessis On Adesanya

Elsewhere, Dricus du Plessis has called on Israel Adesanya to fight him next. The UFC Middleweight Champion picked up the belt, beating Strickland at UFC 297. The South African claimed he rejected the chance to face Adesanya at UFC 300 since he was still recovering from injuries sustained in the Strickland bout.

But now his team are desperate to make the bout happen. They were on course to face each other before Adesanya lost his UFC Middleweight belt to Strickland. Du Plessis was the number-one ranked contender in the division, having beaten Robert Whittaker at UFC 290. This time around, Du Plessis wants to make the fight happen.

“So you claim you want to drag my carcass around in South Africa, as you said. So be a man of your word, and let’s do it. We are trying. We are talking, definitely. That’s what the people want to see, and that’s what I want to do. I want to fight the best guys. This is an entertaining sport. “Who do I wanna fight? I don’t care, I’m the champion. I’ll fight whoever they put in front of me. But what I want in my heart is to fight the guy that the people want to see me fight,” Du Plessis stated
