Renato Moicano Tells Chandler To Stop Waiting For The McGregor Fight

In today’s MMA latest headlines, Renato Moicano has urged Michael Chandler to forget about fighting Conor McGregor and move on.
The pair have long been linked with a fight only to see things not materialize. McGregor had talked about a return to the sport only for his 2023 comeback to fail.
The big sticking point has been McGregor’s failure to enroll in USADA. This requires fighters to provide two negative samples over a six month period before they can fight.
Although there are exemptions available, McGregor has not satisfied any of those requirements. In response, McGregor responded by urging Chandler to remain patient since the Irishman was targeting a 2024 return.

“Yes, it has to be [Chandler next]. Chandler, sit down and wait and shut your mouth, yeah? The Mac will be here soon. [I’m] en route. En route, son. En route. It’s imminent. It’s imminent,” McGregor said
However, Moicano has advised Chandler otherwise. The latter has not fought in the octagon since he was beaten by Dustin Poirier last year. While McGregor is the money fight, the inactivity is not going to aid his cause.
Nevertheless, the narrative for a McGregor-Chandler fight has already been set by the TUF 31 series. The two MMA fighters competed with each other as coaches on the series.
While Chandler had the better of the two, when it came to having more wins on the show, the sole challenge featuring the two MMA fighters, though, saw McGregor came out on top. And yet, for Moicano, his position was clear.

“The division is a mess right now. We have guys like Michael Chandler, he’s delusional… Conor [McGregor] is not going to fight him. Maybe never…Conor is on another level of craziness right now, we can see from the past two years how [much] stuff he’s been doing outside of UFC, and I think he loves the attention, but he doesn’t like to fight anymore…Chandler, get over it my brother, you’re not going to have this fight…I don’t know what Chandler is going to do,” Moicano stated
But one fight that McGregor has ruled out is a bout with KSI. Following Anthony Joshua’s win over Robert Helenius, McGregor got in the ring to bizarrely call out KSI.
He had initially been there to support AJ, which is why the following comments did take everyone aback. After all, McGregor’s focus was on making a return to the UFC at some point.
“I know your man KSI is in the crowd, and he couldn’t box eggs if he worked in an egg boxing factory. So, if he wants to get in here, I’ll give him a final yoke, bare-knuckle if you want,” McGregor

But now that the dust has settled down somewhat, McGregor did not see himself facing KSI anytime soon. Thus, the pathway was clear to have a fight in the UFC.
“Ah he was there, it was just a bit of craic. I’m not interested,” McGregor
