Zaynukov Shuts Down UFC Qatar Rumors

Magomed Zaynukov will not fight at UFC Qatar in November and says he won't return to the cage until 2027.

The undefeated Dagestani lightweight addressed speculation linking him to a November bout with Manoel Sousa at the Qatar card, denying that any contract was signed. Sherdog reported that Zaynukov posted on Instagram Stories that he remains sidelined following hand surgery earlier this year. "I didn't sign any contract for this fight," he wrote. "I won't be fighting this year due to surgery. I'm currently undergoing rehabilitation and recovery."

Zaynukov's UFC Debut and Injury Timeline

Zaynukov made his Octagon debut in July after earning a contract on Dana White's Contender Series, defeating Damian Rzepecki by unanimous decision. The 31-year-old trains alongside lightweight champion Islam Makhachev and built a following before joining the promotion. His hand injury required surgery that has kept him out since his debut win, putting a 9-0 record on hold through the end of the year.

Zaynukov confirmed he has resumed training but is still in the recovery phase. His next fight is expected in early 2027.
