Wilder Breaks Punch-Bag Machine With A Brutal Right Hand
Deontay Wilder showed off his power, as he scored over a 1,000 on a punch-bag machine, breaking it in the process.
The ‘Bronze Bomber’ is known for being one of the heaviest hitters in the heavyweight division. Out of his 46 bouts, Wilder has a remarkable 42 knockouts.
And that has made the American the most-feared heavyweight on the planet. Wilder’s attempts at the machine, therefore, were marred with lots of anticipation.
In his first attempt, Wilder scored in the 900 range. That is a number that heavyweights are expected to get. And yet, when it came to his other attempts, Wilder’s power ended up disrupting the machine.
In the video here, Wilder’s punch reaches the limit of 999 before the machine went on to reset itself to show the figure as 418. However, if there were no limits, the star’s number would have reached 1418.
When speaking about his power, this is what Wilder had to say.
"We got in there with one of the biggest heavyweights in the gym and he looked the toughest, once I got in there and the bell rung, I laid him out in a couple of seconds. As he laid on his back, he lifted his head up, he looked at me, he looked at my trainer, he looked at me and smiled and said, ‘keep him in here, he’s strong’.
"So from that point, it built up confidence, it built up excitement for me and I couldn’t believe I dropped this guy in boxing and stuff like that. It’s two different worlds, being in the streets and then coming in here in something organised inside this ring where it takes discipline and skills, the mindset and the heart to win," Wilder
And Wilder’s last fight was a testament to how much power he still has in his hands. A first-round knockout win over Robert Helenius proved that the ‘Bronze Bomber’ had gotten over his defeats to Tyson Fury.
And by having such an equaliser, the American has become a box-office attraction. You can stay up-to-date with the latest happenings in the world of boxing by visiting boxingblitz right here.
