White Shoots Down Fury-Joshua UK Venue Demand

Dana White says Tyson Fury and Anthony Joshua need to decide whether they actually want to fight each other.

The Zuffa Boxing frontman told reporters Saturday that the long-discussed heavyweight clash has dragged on too long, with venue disputes now threatening to derail a bout both camps claim to want. Matchroom's Eddie Hearn is insisting the fight stay in the UK as originally planned, while White and other stakeholders have pushed for a US location.

White Questions Fighters' Commitment After Venue Stalemate

"Listen, this saga, we'll see how this whole thing plays out. I mean they either want to fight, or they don't. I don't know," White said at the UFC 330 post-fight press conference in Philadelphia, per The Ring. "We did the television and venue deal." When asked if he would be happy to stage the fight in the UK, White added: "Yeah, listen, I don't give a s***. The fight should have happened 10 years ago. Is it going to happen now? We'll see."

Fury stopped Mariusz Wach in seven rounds in Thailand last month. Joshua survived two first-round knockdowns against Kristian Prenga before stopping him in the second in Saudi Arabia the following day. White had previously criticized the tune-up concept that preceded the planned superfight.

Both former champions have now agreed in principle to meet in what promoters are calling a Battle of Britain, but no date or venue has been confirmed.
