White On Aspinall After Hearn Boxing Deal
Dana White says he harbors no ill will toward Tom Aspinall despite the former UFC heavyweight champion's recent partnership with Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Boxing.
The UFC president addressed Aspinall's decision to align with Hearn, a longtime rival in combat sports promotion, according to ESPN. White downplayed any notion of tension between himself and the British heavyweight over the move.
White's Response To Aspinall-Hearn Partnership
Aspinall, who previously held the UFC interim heavyweight title, has joined forces with Hearn for boxing ventures. The arrangement marks a rare crossover between the UFC roster and Matchroom, two entities whose leaders have clashed publicly in the past.
White's measured response suggests the UFC remains open to dual-sport pursuits by its fighters, provided existing contractual obligations are met. The promotion has historically allowed selective boxing appearances, most notably for Conor McGregor's 2017 bout with Floyd Mayweather.
Aspinall has not yet announced a specific boxing opponent or date for his debut under the Hearn banner.
