Victor Ortiz wins bare knuckle debut at BKB 56 in Los Angeles

Former WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz swept the judges' scorecards in his bare knuckle debut Saturday night in Los Angeles. Ortiz went the full five rounds against Dominic Salcido at BKB 56, which took place at the sold-out Novo at LA Live and aired on VICE TV and talkSPORT, as MMA Mania reports.

The card featured three former boxing champions testing their hands without gloves. Former WBO interim light middleweight champion Alfredo Angulo dropped Rashad Bowens in the second round, bringing the crowd to its feet with a knockout finish. Angulo, who faced Canelo Alvarez and Erislandy Lara during his boxing career, made an immediate statement in the promotion's patented Trigon.

The preliminary card saw knockout wins for Danny Ramirez over JD Burns and Zion Tomlinson over Said Abdulgaziev. Jorge Martinez stopped Ryan Venable, while Jackie Cataline and Alexa Gracias fought to a split draw.

The main card featured a technical knockout stoppage when the doctor waved off Henry Corrales against Ihor Blazhenko. LT Nelson stopped Serob Minasyan, and Adel Altamimi earned another doctor stoppage over Eduardo Perez. Ozzie Alvarez took a unanimous decision over Kaine Tomlinson Jr., while Jesse Sparks knocked out Darius Lesane.
