UFC middleweight Robert Valentin accused failed Dana White's Contender Series hopeful Namo Fazil of attacking him at a Thailand cafe in 2023, according to a report by Sherdog.
Valentin said on Instagram Stories that Fazil jumped on his back and attempted to choke him after Valentin pushed away one of Fazil's friends who had threatened to slap him. The Swiss fighter said he threw Fazil off, breaking a vase in the process, before the cafe owner — Fazil's then-girlfriend's mother — threatened to call police. Valentin walked away and the incident did not escalate further, but Fazil reportedly told others afterward that he had choked out the UFC fighter.

Fazil's Recent DWCS Loss And Assault Claims
The allegation comes days after Fazil claimed his performance at DWCS was compromised by an assault during his weight cut. Fazil, who was knocked out by Kaik Brito in the final round earlier this month, said he was confronted by 15 Chechens in his hotel room. The alleged attack was apparently triggered by comments Fazil made against Chechnya before beating Chechen fighter Yakub Sulimanov last year.
Valentin also posted a video showing a man he identified as Fazil running at someone with a kitchen knife before slipping and falling. "This is the same guy that did this to harmless people, non-fighters," Valentin said. "Each gets what they deserve; karma comes back one time. Being loud, talking all that trash might sell some seats, might get you recognized, but the internet never forgets."

Fazil had entered DWCS with momentum from a win on the inaugural Most Valuable Promotions MMA card but failed to secure a UFC contract after the knockout loss to Brito.
