Medic Promises Spectacular Finish In UFC Belgrade Homecoming

Uros Medic plans to deliver a knockout finish against Daniel Rodriguez when he headlines UFC Belgrade this Saturday in Serbia's first UFC event.

Medic told MMA Junkie that he feels the weight of representing his country in the main event. "Obviously, I mean, it's on me to wrap it up and kind of, you know, put an icing on the cake of this event and deliver a spectacular finish so we can all go home and just enjoy and celebrate," he said.

Medic Confident His Power Different From Past Rodriguez Opponents

The Serbian welterweight enters the main event on a three-fight win streak after knocking out Geoff Neal. He has stopped every opponent in his seven-fight UFC run. Rodriguez carries a reputation for durability, but Medic believes his power separates him from previous opponents. "They don't, but they also don't face a fighter like me," he said of Rodriguez's previous opponents. "I come to fight, and every second of that fight is going to be a fight."

Medic praised Rodriguez's resume — 20 wins, five losses — and noted his opponent has gone the distance with top welterweights. BJPenn.com reported Medic as a sizable betting favorite heading into the bout.

UFC Belgrade marks the first time the promotion has held an event in Serbia. The card is scheduled for Saturday.
