Umarov Brings Perfect Finish Rate To ONE Featherweight
Kazakh prospect Adlan Umarov has signed with ONE Championship and will compete at featherweight, bringing a perfect 4-0 professional record in which every victory has come inside the distance.
The 23-year-old has never needed judges, finishing all four of his opponents on the regional circuit. His last three wins all ended by rear-naked choke, per BJPenn.com. Umarov relied on wrestling to dictate position before securing the submissions, grinding opponents down with top control and ground strikes until openings appeared.
What Umarov's Wrestling Base Means For Tang Kai's Division
Standing 5-foot-9 with a 71.3-inch reach, Umarov carries length that should prove useful against established names in the division. His grappling background gives him a clear path to disrupt strikers looking to trade on the feet. Rather than chasing exchanges, he seeks to control where fights unfold.
ONE has not announced a debut date or opponent for Umarov. He enters a featherweight division ruled by champion Tang Kai and follows the path of fellow Kazakh Kairat Akhmetov, who previously held ONE's flyweight title.
Kazakhstan's grappling tradition has long produced fighters who make immediate noise on the global stage. Umarov's finishing consistency suggests he will not receive a soft landing when he steps into the Circle.
