UFC White House bets: Meshew breaks down Topuria-Gaethje card
The UFC's unprecedented White House event goes down this week with seven fights on the South Lawn, and MMA Fighting's Jed Meshew has his betting card ready.
Meshew hosted Luke Noseda of Morning Kombat on the latest No Bets Barred podcast to preview the entire lineup, which features a lightweight title unification bout between Ilia Topuria and Justin Gaethje as well as Alex Pereira's attempt to make history against heavyweight Ciryl Gane. The event marks the most surreal setting in mixed martial arts history after nearly a year of preparation for the America's 250th anniversary celebration.
Topuria-Gaethje unification and live underdogs
The pair broke down each matchup on the card, identifying potential live underdogs and discussing what fighters face in an outdoor cage setup. Sean O'Malley told reporters this week that outdoor conditions create unique challenges. "You can't really prepare for it," he said, per MMA Fighting.
Meshew and Noseda also covered the latest developments in what they called The Climb, tracking contenders positioning themselves for future title shots. Construction crews finished building the temporary arena on the White House grounds earlier this week, with photos showing the cage structure rising on the South Lawn.
The full podcast is available now on Apple Podcasts and Spotify. UFC White House airs Saturday night from Washington.
