UFC Vegas 119 weigh-ins: Horiguchi-Kape rematch official
Kyoji Horiguchi and Manel Kape both made weight for their flyweight rematch at UFC Vegas 119, setting up a main event with title implications nearly a decade after their first meeting.
Horiguchi stepped on the scale at 125 pounds on the dot, while Kape weighed 126 pounds for Saturday's headliner at the UFC Apex, Sherdog reports. The two previously fought during the 2017 Rizin Bantamweight Grand Prix, a bout Horiguchi won via third-round arm-triangle choke.
Borjas misses flyweight limit by three pounds
The card's lone weigh-in miss came from Kevin Borjas, who weighed 129 pounds for his scheduled flyweight bout against Andre Lima. Borjas will forfeit 20 percent of his purse for coming in three pounds over the 126-pound limit. The remaining 11 bouts are proceeding as planned.
Horiguchi enters on an eight-fight unbeaten streak and has won both UFC appearances since his return to the promotion. Kape has strung together three straight victories since a listless decision loss to Muhammad Mokaev, most recently stopping Brandon Royval in the biggest win of his octagon tenure. Both men held the Rizin bantamweight title before returning to the UFC.
UFC Vegas 119 streams exclusively on Paramount Plus on Saturday, with prelims beginning at 5 p.m. ET and the main card starting at 8 p.m. ET.
