UFC Unveils Custom Freedom 250 Gloves

Custom gloves will be worn by all 14 fighters competing at UFC Freedom 250, replacing the standard UFC design for one night only.

Footage of Lopes during fight week showed him trying on a red pair featuring the US flag across the wrist and the Freedom 250 logo where the UFC initials would normally sit.

Whether the custom gloves become a collector's item or a footnote depends largely on what happens inside the Octagon. Ilia Topuria defending against Justin Gaethje in the lightweight title unification main event and Alex Pereira meeting Ciryl Gane for the interim heavyweight belt in the co-main event provide the substance.

Lopes versus Garcia sits further down the card but carries its own interest. Lopes has been one of the more watchable fighters on the roster over the past two years, while Garcia is a capable opponent who has shown the ability to make fights difficult for the men across from him.

They will wear the colours of their corners, on a night the UFC has spent considerable effort making look unlike anything it has produced before.
