UFC Names September's Best Knockout And Submission

The UFC handed out its September awards after a four-event month that delivered a slew of finishes across three continents.

Salahdine Parnasse earned breakout performer honors for his first-round body kick finish of Dan Hooker in the UFC Paris main event, per the promotion's official recap. The former KSW champion entered as a sizeable favourite and delivered, folding Hooker with a left kick midway through the opening frame. Parnasse debuted at No. 9 in the media lightweight rankings and immediately called for Max Holloway. "He isn't interested in a slow climb up the ranks," the UFC noted.

O'Neill's Armbar Takes Submission Honors

Casey O'Neill won submission of the month for an elevator armbar against Eduarda Moura at UFC 331 in Los Angeles. After Moura dropped her with a counter right hand inside 30 seconds, O'Neill stayed active off her back, pushed off Moura's hips with her feet to break posture, and caught the extended arm as the Brazilian fell back toward the canvas. The finish secured O'Neill's second straight first-round stoppage.

Sean King III took knockout of the month for his slam finish of Jessie Rosas at Noche UFC in Arizona. King ducked under a left hand, trapped Rosas's arm, lifted him, and slammed him unconscious in under a minute of the opening round. The New Orleans native's debut earned immediate notice for the sheer violence of the finish.

Raul Rosas Jr. and Raoni Barcelos won fight of the month for their back-and-forth clash at UFC Vegas 121, which closed out the September schedule.
