The main event picture for UFC 332 has come into focus following weeks of uncertainty tied to Valentina Shevchenko's undisclosed injury.
Shevchenko has since decided to vacate her UFC women's flyweight title rather than move forward with what would have been a third defense of her current title reign.

Stepping in on short notice to headline the October 3 card is Wang Cong, who enters on a four-fight winning streak and now meets Natália Silva for the vacant 125-pound title. With Shevchenko out of the picture, the winner will become the division's newest champion.
Details on Shevchenko's injury remain limited, but the two-time UFC champion is expected to be sidelined for at least a year while she recovers.
UFC 332 takes place October 3 at Salt Lake City's Delta Center. Further down the card, bantamweight top-10 contender Payton Talbott faces former UFC champion Deiveson Figueiredo in a notable co-feature.
